The Supply Department is in charge of growing the product selection while improving our pricing competitivity, working with thousands of refurbishers selling on Back Market.

Japan Business Development team's mission is to grow the supply of products on our site. We do this by bringing new sellers onto the platform and by growing existing sellers. 

We are looking for a results-driven individual with e-commerce/retail or similar experience to drive Japan supply growth to maximize its presence and business in Japan. The Business Development Manager will partner with sellers, country and category & quality performance teams to grow seller’s business on Back Market,  including identify high potential seller to maximize selection, monitoring seller’s healthy growth, work with seller on pricing strategy, product quality and performance to achieve our standard and deliver the best e-commerce experience for customer on Back Market.

  • Contribute to Back Market’s selection growth and go to market strategy to acquire, nurturing and onboard new sellers
  • Focus on Sellers GMV and Quality performance to ensure a profitable and healthy growth for both seller and Backmerket
  • Develop potential partnership with industry influencer, service provider, affiliate in refurbished and cross-border e-commerce
  • Work on Invent and simplify the business development flow and also the seller onboarding experience to ensure you and your partner can work efficiently and effectively.

  • Experience:
  • +5 years’ experience in sales, business development or marketing
  • Previous experience in an E-commerce or fast-growing start up preferred
  • Proven tracking record in acquiring sellers or partners
  • Skills:
  • Native Japanese with high level of English communications skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High interpersonal skill
  • Excellent in time management and pipeline management with great sense of priority, urgency, ownership and accountability
  • Great listener with persuasiveness and persistence personality to drive result
  • Willing to travel, abilities to work independently with highly self-motivated and innovative mind

  • Proactive and energetic attitude with the desire to be a key player on a results-oriented team in a fast-paced work environment
  • You are resourceful, scrappy and creative — if a playbook doesn't exist yet, you are excited to figure it out and build it for the whole team to use
