BuyBack is Back Market’s trade-in service and our key asset to close the loop of the circular economy. It allows consumers to sell back their used devices to our refurbishers, working as a C2B marketplace.
The BuyBack is embedded into our B2C experience: when customers shop on BackMarket, they are offered a price discount on the product they are buying if they sell back their old device (smartphone, tablet, console, airpods etc.). Customers who only want to sell their devices will get cash from the sale.
This service is a strategic pillar for Back Market, as it enables us to source supply for our marketplace sellers, the refurbishers, while offering customers a differentiated experience.
Back Market’s service is the leading trade-in program in France. It was recently launched in Germany. Next, we are expanding the service to new countries and new product categories. To drive the exponential growth of the service, we are looking for a Buyback expansion Manager.
Within a human sized-team (we like to say we are “the start-up within the start-up”), your scope will be wide and your projects impactful.
Your mission (should you choose to accept it):As an intrapreneur, you will launch the service in new countries in which Back Market is already selling. You will challenge and adapt our offer and business model based on local dynamics and competition.You will extend the service to new product categories in electronics and appliances, based on strategic priorities and feasibility (e.g. sales demand and logistics) You will lead negotiations and onboard B2B strategic partners to use our service and make it growYou will manage projects and coordinate with other Back Market teams (Supply, Finance, Quality, …). You will collaborate closely with Tech teams to extend BuyBack features on our website and the app.You will manage the Buy Back category & country project manager
You are at the right place if:5-7 years of relevant job experience; in a consultancy firm and in a start-up or e-commerce space where you launched new projects or servicesYou have an entrepreneur profile. You are a do-er. You are at ease with negotiations and comfortable speaking with senior level executives. You are able to conduct projects from end to endYou are fluent in English
