You will be responsible for Back Market’s communication strategy in Germany and Austria, helping create momentum for the brand in these key countries, with two main points of focus:(Germany being the #1 priority).
Defining messaging & comms ecosystem to drive awareness & performance. Ensure we resonate with local insights to frame and strengthen our positioning, direct our tone of voice and key messaging in order to get consumers excited about Back Market. Deliver messaging that will drive a German and Austrian audience to our platform through TV, influence marketing, brand content, CRM etc.
Acting as the guardian of the Brand DNA. Be responsible for Back Market’s local relevance in Germany and Austria: adapt our global brand platform, tone of voice and “storytelling” to the taste of Germans and Austrians while keeping its full consistency with the global brand platform across all touchpoints - from paid to owned media (including website).
You will be part of the Communications team managed by Donatienne, our Head of Global Communications, and overseen by Vianney, our Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer.You’ll also work very closely with Guillaume, our Chief Marketing Officer and Martin, our General Manager for Germany.
You will manage a small team to deliver projects: the local Copywriter and Community Manager, and the Influence and Content Coordinator. You will also be working in collaboration with various members of the Marketing team (Traffic, Merch, CRM), Quality and BoT.
You will have your own budget for content production and the support of a local advertising agency.
Your Mission If Accept It: Build a strong communication strategy through your culture and market expertiseYou will stand as the local expert of the culture and consumer market in Germany and Austria. You will assist us in establishing the right positioning for Back Market in these countries (brand platform and key messages) to strongly appeal to local consumers.You will shape our communication plan together with our marketing experts (identify audiences, messaging and touchpoints).Manage daily brand communicationYou will be in charge of the day-to-day implementation of this strategy:leveraging our internal capabilities (creative, social media, CRM, VOL, etc.) leading the collaboration with external partners (advertising agency, production company, PR agency).Track results and adapt our strategyYou will analyze and report the performance/success of actions/campaigns and suggest recommendations to improve them.You’ll manage the budget dedicated to the local agency and production company.
You Are At The Right Place If:You are fluent in German (C2) & English; French is a plusYou have a minimum of a 7+ year experience, preferably in Communications/Advertising (ie. Strategic Planning or New Business in an agency), or the same position in a Start-up or Scale-up.- You are true team player and willing to be part of an International teamYou are strategy savvy, with experience in understanding consumers (and their purchase journey), analyzing markets and trends. You have an analytical mindset and like defining comms architecture.You are capable of framing a strong brand storytelling and articulating it across all channels and throughout the customer journey.You understand its impact on consumers’ mindsets (via both copy and visual).You are curious and have a strong creative sensibility.You’re not afraid of project management and are a bit of an all-rounder.
