With its Buyback service, Back Market connects consumers willing to sell their smartphone, tablet, gaming console or audio product with a professional willing to buy it to give it a second life. We are aiming at changing customers’ habits towards used devices by making it easy and lucrative to resell them, while creating supply for the refurbishers selling on Back Market.

Your role is to ensure that customers willing to sell an electronic device on Back Market will find an attractive offer. Your KPI is conversion rate and orders volumes

YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT): 🏅

  • Monitor categories performance: you track the performance of our key categories (smartphone, consoles, audio, tablet, macbooks…) at model and state level, against weekly & monthly targets on conversion rate, models mix, volumes, price, capacity ; you understand the performance drivers of our activity ; you perform gap analysis vs target on a weekly & monthly basis and adjust your action plan accordingly
  • Define business growth strategy: you define KPIs and targets ; you build action plans to boost our categories growth on the short and long term ; you animate our internal stakeholders (marketing, communication, merchandising, key account managers, quality…)
  • Build performance analysis and reporting tools: you collect, structure and analyze internal data (traffic, prices, orders, buyers capacity…) and external data (competitors’ prices) with our BI analyst  
  • Track competition: you build and maintain a competitors’ tracker, you track competitors prices on main models, you research on second-hand market & consumer trends and innovation (incl. C2B and C2C), you understand local specificities in terms of sellers’ habits and competition
  • Launch growth projects: you identify improvement & innovation opportunities to grow buyback
  • YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF: ⭐

  • You have 2-3 years of experience in an analytical role: pricing analyst, category manager, financial analyst, M&A analyst, BI analyst, strategy consultant ; preferably in retail, ecommerce, marketplace or consumer goods
  • Analytical thinking: you are able to break down a problem to identify root causes, you pay attention to details – MECE and Pyramid principle do not sound strange words to you
  • Result-oriented: monitor KPIs, have an ROI-approach, get results
  • Economics & finance basics: you are comfortable with a P&L, margin calculations, price elasticity 
  • You are a master of Excel, ideally you have experience with SQL and Tableau 
  • Organized: you can deal with short & long term goals, manage different projects at a time and be reactive on operational issues
  • Project management: you know have to define an action plan, identify contributors, manage progress & deadlines, communicate clearly & efficiently
  • Ability to work with different teams, build common objectives and processes, build trust
